WHAT IS THE DEFECT?
The accelerator pedal return spring may have been weakened during manufacture bending process which may result in spring breakage during normal operation.
WHAT IS THE HAZARD?
If the return spring breaks, the accelerator pedal will not return when released. In this situation the car will not slow down without the use of the brakes and could result in injury due to an accident.
WHAT IS THE REMEDY?
To correct this defect, Yamaha has initiated a Factory Modification Campaign, whereby affected models must have the accelerator return spring replaced.
WHAT TO DO?
Consumers are requested to contact your local Yamaha Dealer to set up an appointment to have this modification carried out free of charge.
