RiDETM CONTROL SYSTEM

Yamaha’s patented RiDE™ (Reverse with Intuitive Deceleration Electronics) system provides a simple and intuitive way to control your WaveRunner when decelerating, reversing and turning. Whether launching off a trailer, docking in a tight spot or slowing down in a hurry, RiDE™ makes manoeuvring your personal watercraft effortless.

How RiDE Works

Pull the left throttle trigger (RiDETM) to decelerate and reverse. Release the trigger for neutral. Pull the right throttle trigger to move forward and to accelerate. It’s that simple!

Deceleration Distance Reduced by 30%

The ability to quickly reduce speed was once unheard of with personal watercraft, but thanks to RiDE technology you can now safely reduce stopping distance by up to 30%.

No Nose Dive

Intuitive thrust control ensures active handlebar inputs result in smooth movements coupled with a unique design feature to ensure zero nose dive when slowing down or reversing.

Precise Low Speed Manoeuvrability

A potent 1049cc, 3 cylinder, four-stroke, purpose-built marine engine matched with a 144mm high-pressure pump. This is the power unit that drives the EX and EX Deluxe models.

TR-1 High Output

Takes the TR-1's engine as a base, but matches is to a larger 155mm high-pressure pump. Used in EXR, VX Deluxe and VX Cruiser models.

Yamaha’s Sheet Moulded Compound (SMC) marine-grade fibreglass, uses high-strength reinforced composite material (not plastic) for a tough and corrosion resistant finish. Used in EX and EX Deluxe models.
Our patented NanoXcel material, uses nanotechnology to deliver a 25% weight reduction over traditional hulls for improved power-to-weight, fuel economy, speed and handling. Used in VX Deluxe, VX Cruiser, VX Cruiser HO, FX HO and FX Cruiser HO models.
Yamaha’s patented NanoXcel2 ultra lightweight material is almost 40% lighter than traditional hulls, helping Yamaha win countless Australian and World Championships. Used in EXR, GP1800R-HO, GP1800R-SCHO, FX SVHO, FX Cruiser SVHO and FX LTD SVHO models.
